“I like your Twitter…” Madonna Inn Wedding

This couple. Ooooooh how we loved shooting their wedding. They’re both comedy writers in LA and they definitely brought The Funny to this wedding at The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. The fact that they put Marge & Homer on top of their cake meant one thing: THESE ARE MY PEOPLE. I happen to have a severe Simpsons addiction. (Hi, I’m Robin and the Simpsons theme song is my ringtone.)

A quick explanation of the title of this blog post…Erin adorably spent most of the morning polishing her wedding vows. During the ceremony, she shared one of the things that drew him to her: “I like your Twitter.” So adorable. And then Sean said his vows and brought this gem: “You are the Scottie Pippen to my Michael Jordan.” Jayson and I are hooked on NBA basketball almost as much as The Simpsons, so it was challenging to shoot this wedding through all our laughing.

Now. Let’s look at this sweet, funny couple.

So here’s the thing

The Madonna Inn is known for its rooms with wacky colors and unique decor.  But there’s also something dramatic and lovely about those rooms in black & white…

Jayson took this shot of Erin working on her wedding vows just before she put on her gorgeous gown and prepared to marry her best friend. I’m really in love with this moment.

Sean & Erin Get Married…

This ceremony was full of laughter and sweetness. It also involved a very young flower girl who earned herself and big round of applause. Here’s a slideshow of ceremony highlights…

Um, We’re Locked Out

The plan was to head back to their room right after the ceremony and shoot some pictures. That plan changed. The key didn’t work. But sometimes a change in plans turns into fun images you never expected to take.
